Platinum market surplus to fall 10% to 455,000 oz in 2019: WPIC

The global platinum market isexpected to show a surplus of 455,000 ozin 2019, 10% lower than the surplus in 2018due to a 1.6% increase in supply and a 2.4%increase in demand, the World PlatinumInvestment Council said Wednesday.Demand growth next year “will be drivenmainly by chemical and petroleum demandreflecting economic growth, and a doublingin investment demand as a rebound in ETFsadds to robust bar and coin demand,” WPICsaid in the latest edition of its PlatinumQuarterly report.
