South African-based tin miner AfriTin said Sept. 9 its production of tin concentrate in August increased to 37.5 mt at its Uis Tin Mine in Namibia, extending production gains of 35.3 mt made in July and 19.7 mt in June. Modifications to address bottlenecks in the fines dewatering circuit of the Uis processing plant are now complete, and it expecting that improvements will translate “into increased concentrator plant throughput from September 2020 onwards,” the London-listed company said in a statement.
