Pittsburgh—First Cobalt completed a second trial of battery-grade cobalt sulfate production suitable for the electric vehicle industry as it prepares to restart its refinery in Ontario, the company said Monday. First Cobalt produced the cobalt sulfate using a new cobalt alloy feed source, according to a company statement. “This latest milestone demonstrates versatility of the company’s permitted Canadian refinery and its ability to become North America’s only producer of cobalt sulfate for the electric vehicle industry,” First Cobalt said.
