Caledonia ups gold output in Q2; set to reach 2020 guidance

London listed gold mining and exploration company Caledonia Mining Corporation has reported a strong Q2 gold production from its Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe, putting it in good stead to reach its 2020 guidance, as Zimbabwe’s mining sector continues to operate near usual levels despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Caledonia increased its Q2 gold production to 13,499 oz, up 6.2% from 12,712 oz in Q2 2019, the company stated July 9. Production for the first half of 2020 stood at 27,732 oz, up 12.5% from the same period in 2019. Caledonia maintains its 2020 full year production guidance of 53,000 to 56,000 oz and remains on track with progress towards its target of 80,000 oz/year by 2022, it said.
