Jinchuan’s 2019 drC cobalt output up 6.7%; sales surge 43.4%

Hong Kong—Cobalt production of Jinchuan Group International Resources’ mining operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo rose 6.7% in 2019 to 5,070 mt, the miner said Tuesday in its 2019 operational update. Jinchuan mined 1,283 mt of cobalt in the fourth quarter of 2019, up 1.3% from Q3, data compiled from its previous operational reviews showed. The miner’s production has been rising gradually over April-December 2019, from 1,256 mt in Q2 to 1,267 mt in Q3. The amount, however, has yet to rebound to last year’s quarterly high of 1,355 mt in Q1.
