Lme copper drops below $6,000/ mt as China coronavirus fears rise

London—Base metals like copper, alongside other commodities and asset classes, was pressured by bearish sentiments on Friday heading in to the Lunar New Year in China, amid concerns about the coronavirus flu outbreak. The London Metal Exchange three- month copper price fell below $6,000/mt Friday as the market mood soured. The metal had been on a high note since the start of the year, following on from an uptrend started in the fourth-quarter 2019.
