Belgium’s Q1 Li carbonate imports almost triple: UN Comtrade

Belgium imported almost triple the volume of lithium carbonate in the first quarter of 2020, compared with the same period in 2019, according to latest data from United Nations Comtrade. The country imported 3,096 mt of lithium carbonate during the three-month period, up from 1,037 mt over January-March 2019 and 1,297 mt in the October-December 2019 quarter. The Q1 increase comes after Belgium’s total lithium carbonate imports dropped 31.8% year on year in 2019 to 6,874 mt.
