Hong Kong—Metals X is to mothball the Nifty copper mine in Western Australia following an operational review that concluded it was unlikely to achieve its planned production at an acceptable cost within the timeframe targeted in a reset plan announced in May, the company said Tuesday. Mining will be suspended immediately and ore stocks will be processed in the coming week, Metals X said in a statement. The mine, processing facilities and infrastructure will then be placed under care and maintenance.
