Chinese aluminum prices drift; alumina slips on rising imports

Singapore—Chinese domestic aluminum prices were rangebound this week, while alumina softened on the back of increased imports at comparatively lower prices. The front-month primary aluminum contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at Yuan 13,900/mt ($1,969/mt) on Wednesday, up from Yuan 13,850/mt on October 23, but down from Yuan 14,025/mt last month.
