Asian cobalt sulfate prices continue to slide in weak markets

Singapore—S&P Global Platts assessed cobalt sulfate with 20.5% cobalt content at Yuan 47,000/mt ($6,706/mt) delivered, duty-paid China Thursday, down from Yuan 49,000/mt on November 7. Chinese sellers and buyers continued to cite slow demand as the key driving factor dragging down domestic prices in sparse trades. Despite one East China producer source offered Yuan 45,000/mt, L/C payment and sold some tonnages at this level to customers in chemical and battery industries, other producer and consumers said prices are not there yet.
