Aliaga- The State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan (Socar) has launched its 10-million-t/y Star Refinery (Socar Turkey Aegean Refinery) in Aliaga, Turkey (PCN, 25 May 2015, p 3). The $6.3-billion refinery was built and equipped with the world's latest technologies, the company noted, adding that it also helps the integration of its petrochemical business and therefore has a "strategic importance" to the company.
