Clariant Develops Phthalate-Free Olefin Polymerization Catalysts

Munich-Clariant announced it is launching its new next-generation, phtha-late-free PolyMax 600 series performance catalysts for polypropylene (PP), developed in partnership with McDer-mott's Lummus Novolen technology. The PolyMax 600 series catalysts "significantly" boosts plant productivity, while at the same time improving polymer properties. It is expected to result in an economic benefit of over $8-million a year due to higher catalyst productivity, said Clariant citing a "major" PP producer.
