CARIBBEAN Exports of essential oils from the Caribbean are booming as the demand for natural cosmetics continues to soar in Europe.According to the Caribbean Export Development Agency(Caribbean Export),the natural cosmetics sector is increasing annually by between 8-10%.Jamaican black castor oil and coconut oil are the Caribbean's star ingredients in beauty.This is due to their moisturising and hydrating properties,which make them suitable for use in a number of products.”In 2018,Caribbean countries exported essential oils valued at over €32m to the EU,which represents 8% of all imports to the region,”said Caribbean Export's Competitiveness and Export Promotion Manager Damie Sinanan.
