SGX lump premium contract hit record high volume in August

The Singapore Exchange sawrecord trade cleared on its iron ore LumpPremium contract in August when 24,450 lots,or 2.445 million mt of derivatives contracts,settled against the Platts spot lump premiumassessment.This represented a more than fourfoldsurge in growth from July’s traded volumesof 580,500 mt. June’s volumes amounted to610,000 mt, the previous record for tradedvolumes.
