US ferrous scrap exports exceed 1.5 million mt in August

US scrap exports totaled 1.56million mt in August, more than a third of whichwas HMS 1&2 grade material.The US exported 632,597 mt of HMS 1&2during the month of August, the highestexport total for the grade since August 2014when 654,982 mt were exported. Shreddedscrap was the next most popular exportgrade, with the US shipping 544,034 mt of thematerial in August.
