London—Miner Coronado Global Resources said Tuesday it sold more low-vol coking coals to China, offsetting weaker export demand at global steelmakers hit by the coronavirus outbreak. Sales to China are increasing from its Curragh operations in Queensland and the giant underground Buchanan mine in the US into China, as contract based demand elsewhere weakened, the Brisbanebased company said in an update to the ASX exchange. Major customers in India, Japan, South Korea, Europe have continued to take cargoes from the Curragh mine, as its main coal products are baseload in coke blends, Coronado CEO Gerry Spindler said in the statement.
