Ukrainian ferroalloy producer NFP to drop output 30% in August

Kyiv—Ukraine’s biggest ferroalloys producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFP) will reduce its output by about 30% in August and will send up to 25% of its workers on leave due to falling demand for ferroalloys, NFP director general Volodymyr Kutsyn said July 23. NFP, which produces about 50,000 mt/month of ferroalloys, may cut production to 36,000 mt in August from the about 52,000 mt expected to be produced in July, and the company will shut down two or three ferroalloy making furnaces due to weak demand.
