Big 5 Q2 iron ore shipments up 4.2% on year: S&P Global Platts cFlow

Singapore—Major Australian iron ore producers are on track to meet their export guidance for fiscal or calendar 2020, but Vale is still behind schedule, according to analysis of April-June quarter shipments using S&P Global Platts’ cFlow vessel tracking tool. Platts has estimated iron ore shipments from Vale, Rio Tinto, BHP, Fortescue Metals Group and Roy Hill in Q2. Total shipments from the five producers in June reached 104.11 million mt, hitting an 18-month high. This took April-June volumes to 287.72 million mt, up 14.6% on quarter and 4.2% higher on year.
