Fresh deal drives up turkish import ferrous scrap price

Import prices for ferrous scrap registered their first notable gains since mid-July on Friday after a European cargo was reported sold. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $235/mt CFR, a jump of $6.50/mt from Thursday. In a deal that was concluded on Thursday, according to the buyer, the Turkish mill booked a cargo from a Benelux- based recycler, consisting of 15,000 mt HMS 1/2 (75:25) and 15,000 mt plate and structural/HMS 1 at $236/mt CFR Iskenderun.
