CITI C Dameng's 2018 manganese ore output rises 13%

Manganese ore production of CITIC Dameng Holdings in 2018 rose 13.1% from a year ago to 3.54 million mt, thanks to the strong growth of the Chinese manganese major’s 51%-controlled Bembele mining and processing project in Gabon. In a report on its 2018 annual results filed Thursday with the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, CITIC Dameng said it mined 1.28 million mt of manganese ore from the Bembele open-pit mine last year, 29.9% more than 2017 and accounting for 36% of the company's 2018 total.
