Total Deal Paves Way for Papua LNG Expansion

Total on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the government of Papua New Guinea to develop its Papua LNG project despite the delay of an expected announcement on new fiscal terms in the country. The French major and its partners Exxon Mobil and Oil Search signed the MOU with the government outlining the key terms of the gas agreement for the Papua LNG project. A more definitive agreement is expected in the first quarter of next year.
