NOV Buys Rig Designer to Boost Market Share

Oil-field equipment supplier NOV has acquired offshore vessel designer GustoMSC in a move that should give a boost to the buyer’s Rig Technologies segment, which has struggled to rebound coming out of the industry downturn. In an internal memo, sent to NOV staff on May 31 and seen by Oil Daily, NOV President of Rig Technologies Joe Rovig announced that Netherlands-based GustoMSC had “joined the NOV family as of today."
