Anadarko Moves Aggressively in Delaware Post-Shell JV

Anadarko Petroleum will spend the rest of the year aggressively developing its Delaware Basin acreage in the oil-rich Permian Basin after its joint venture with Royal Dutch Shell expired on Jul. 12. Anadarko executives have said they favor a post-JV arrangement in which their company holds a majority operatorship. In recent months, the company delivered to Shell a flurry of Authority for Expenditure (AFE) documents proposing wells on various sections as a means to capture operatorship.
