Mexico, Foreign Banks Give Financing Boost to Pemex

Mexico’s government has announced the refinancing of debt held by national oil company Pemex, along with a reduction in the firm’s tax burden, to bolster the struggling firm’s finances. In a Monday morning press conference, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and representatives from three international lenders signed a deal to refinance up to $2.5 billion of the firm’s debt.
