摘要

The chairman of a think tank funded by troubled private oil company China CEFC Energy has been sentenced in New York to three years in prison, after being found guilty in December on seven counts of bribery and money laundering. Patrick Ho, a former Hong Kong minister, was arrested in November 2017 on suspicions of bribery, relating to his role as deputy chairman and CEO of the China Energy Fund Committee. The Hong Kong-registered think tank had special consultative status with the UN’s Social and Economic Council and was funded by CEFC.
