Global tanker rates have fallen in recent weeks as crude imports into China have slipped. Other factors contributing to the glut of available vessels include the escalating price of Brent crude, which has made grades priced against that benchmark expensive, and the continuing unrest in Libyas which has all but halted loadings from that country.
