TechnipFMC is on track to split into two companies during the first half of 2020. The energy services giant said it expects to complete the transaction in the second quarter of the year. The first company will retain the TechnipFMC name, employ 22,000 people and will continue as a fully integrated technology and services provider, undertaking subsea contracts and onshore development work for the energy industry. The spinout company, Technip Energies, with 15,000 employees, aims to capitalize on the energy transition by winning LNG opportunities. The enlarged firm has already worked on major LNG projects including Novatek's Arctic LNG.
