Drax boosts temperature monitoring

Drax Power Station, North Yorkshire, UK, and refurbishment contractors, Capula, have chosen Foundation fieldbus-based Rosemount temperature transmitters and interface units to upgrade temperature monitoring at the plant. The equipment, supplied by Emerson Process Management, transmits data from more than 500 temperature monitoring points on one of the boiler and turbine systems. The solution was chosen for the coal-fired power station following demonstrations of the Rosemount 3420 fieldbus interface module to its Schneider PLC host system.
