摘要

Relative efficacy of some seed treating chemicals (benfurocarb, carbosulfan, imidacloprid and pirimicarb) was tested against Meloidogyne javanica in okra under screen house conditions at 3 and 6% doses (on a.i. basis). All the chemicals showed improvement in plant growth parameters and reduction in number of galls/plant. However, comparatively better response was observed in carbosulfan treatment. Further evaluation of carbosulfan at different inoculum levels clearly indicated a direct correlation between the dose of carbosulfan and nematode inoculum level in the soil. However, at exceptionally high nematode inoculum level in soil (5 l/g. soil) Seed treatment alone even at high dose of 6% did not show a good potential in the management of root-knotnematode in okra.
