Oil and natural gas production in North Dakota’s Bakken Shale keeps ramping up to record levels, but challenges remain as the industry has fallen short of the state’s gas capture goals. Oil production in July reached 44.7 million bbl (1.44 million b/d), up 1.2% from 42.7 million bbl (1.42 million b/d) in June, the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) said in the latest output statistics.
