FERC, NERC Tout Best Practices to Respond, Recover from Cyber Attacks

FERC staf and electric utility regu- lators have outlined in a report best prac- tices on how to efectively respond to and recover from cyber security incidents like the one that caused a natural gas pipeline to temporarily shut down earlier this year. Staf of the Federal Energy Regula- tory Commission and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) identifed common elements in Incident Response and Recovery (IRR) plans among electric utilities.
