Gazprom, Lukoil Approve New Dividend Policy

The management committee of Russia's state-controlled gas giant Gazprom has approved a new dividend policy aimed at boosting payments to 50% of net profit. And the board of privately held Lukoil last week gave the green light to changes under which the oil producer's dividends will equal 100% of the com- pany's adjusted free cash flow (NC Dec.5’19). Russian companies have mostly revised their dividend policies over the past couple of years, either to comply with state requirements that state-con- trolled firms allocate more funds for dividends or to boost a company's value for its shareholders.
