Gazprom Neft, Shell Expand Cooperation

Russia's Gazprom Neft and Royal Dutch Shell agreed to expand cooper - ation in their Salym Petroleum Development (SPD) joint venture (JV) in West Siberia and confirmed plans to work on other new projects not im- pacted by Western sanctions. The two companies announced that SPD will purchase a license for the Salymsky-2 area from Gazprom Neft. The area lies close to the three fields operated by SPD and is still in an early stage of exploration. Work on a second appraisal well is in progress. Once exploration work is complete, the partners will decide about devel- oping the area.
