Gazprom Caught Out as Turk Stream Displaces Blue Stream

Gazprom’s Turk Stream gas pipeline, designed to replace supplies that transit Ukraine, has so far, ironically enough, only fully replaced another Gazprom pipeline, Blue Stream. The 16 Bcm/yr Blue Stream off- shore pipeline, launched back in 2003, hasn’t yet resumed work since it was stopped for maintenance on May 13, Reuters reported last week, citing three sources. The mainte- nance was initially planned to take one week but was then officially pro- longed until May 29, as Turkey had slashed imports from Russia.
