The Akademik Cherskiy has appar- ently made its last maneuver and is now waiting in a German port for an opportunity to start pipelay works on Gazprom’s incomplete Nord Stream 2 project. After staying four days in Kaliningrad, the vessel moved to Germany’s Mukran, a port where Nord Stream 2 pipes are stored. The Akademik Cherskiy is now moored, and there is no clarity when it might begin laying pipe (NC May7’20).
