China’s major mills continued to reduce their crude steel output ratesin mid-December while finished steel inventories surged.Member mills of the China Iron & Steel Association (Cisa) producedcrude steel at an average rate of 1.7181 million tonnes per day duringthe second 10 days of December, down 10,800 tpd - or 0.6% - fromthe rate of 1.7289 million tpd during the first 10 days of December,according to data released by the industry body on Thursday January4.
