When news of Givaudan's purchase of Quest International broke in December 2006,many looked to see what its nearest rival,IFF would do.IFF had already committed itself to dividing its fragrance and flavours activities into two businesses on 1 January 2007,and Nicolas Mirzayantz,group president,fragrances,says that the reorganisation will set IFF up for any battles that lie ahead."The split allows us to focus our resources,integrating all our expertise for creation,marketing,science,new technology,delivery systems and new molecules.It will increase our speed to market and leverage our significant expertise and knowledge across all the fragrance categories."
