A380.1 secondary aluminium alloy price rises to 27-month high

Secondary aluminium alloy prices in the United States rose across the board on Thursday December 3, including the benchmark A380.1, which rose to its highest level since August 2018. Fastmarkets assessed aluminium alloy A380.1, delivered Midwest at 95-98 cents per lb on December 3, up 2.7% from 93-95 cents per lb the previous week and the highest range since it was 96-97 cents per lb on August 22, 2018. Meanwhile, the LME’s North American special aluminium alloy contract (Nasaac) reached 1,900 per tonne this month. The aluminium alloy Nasaac LME official cash price closed at $1,900 per tonne on December 3, a level it also hit at the start of the month. The last time the price passed $1,900 per tonne was in April 2018.
