Chalco’s Huasheng 2mln tpy alumina refinery starts trial production - sources

Huasheng alumina refinery in Guangxi province of southern China started trial production on September 10, having come online in August, several sources told Fastmarkets on Monday September 14. The alumina refinery has a total production capacity of 2 million tonnes per year across two production lines, and began construction in October 2018. The refinery will reach an estimated 40,000-50,000 tonnes of alumina output within this month, sources added. Huasheng alumina refinery is a subsidiary of Aluminum Corp of China (Chalco). Neither Huasheng alumina refinery nor Chalco was reachable when contacted by Fastmarkets on Monday.
