Turkish domestic long steel prices fell by over 100 lira this week because of weakening scrap import values and limited demand for the product, sources said on Thursday April 30. Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar) domestic, exw Turkey was 3,250-3,270 lira ($466-469) per tonne on Thursday, down from the last week’s 3,350-3,400 lira per tonne. Rebar offers from the Istanbul and Iskenderun regions were at around 3,270-3,320 lira per tonne, while prices from the Izmir and Karabük region were at 3,250-3,300 lira per tonne ex-works.
