Some copper scrap discounts in the United States declined this week amid moderate demand and plentiful supply in the domestic market. The steady supply of copper scrap - which is unusual during the winter months, when metal availability typically tightens - has ensured it remains a buyer’s market. There is “plenty of scrap around... we have no trouble getting units,” a scrap consumer told Fastmarkets. Scrap trade is comparatively muted compared with January, one trader source said.
