Domestic prices for mesh-quality steel wire rod were largely flat in the north of Europe in the week to Wednesday October 14, although producers were bullish about new rises, citing material shortages and good demand, sources told Fastmarkets. Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Northern Europe, was €485-495 ($571-583) per tonne on Wednesday, the same as last week.
