Whitehaven posts record first-half profit

Australian pure play coal producer, Whitehaven Coal, has posted arecord first-half net profit of A$257.2m (US$203m) for the sixmonths to 31 December 2017, up 63% from $157.5m ($124m) inthe corresponding period a year earlier.The result was driven by a 32% increase in per tonne EBITDAmargins which rose to $54/t in H1 FY 2018 from $41/t in H1 2017.
