Canada’s coking coal exports increased by nearly 12% year-on-year in September, according to its latest customs data. Exports for the first nine months of 2019 increased by 9% on the year, led by continued growth in Asia-Pacific markets. Exports in September were the highest monthly total for the year at 3.67 mt, up from 3.29 mt previously and higher than 2.44 mt in August. January-September shipments were 24.40 mt, up from 22.35 mt in the same prior-year period.
