USG ports’ traic restricted or closed as Sally hits land

As Tropical Storm Sally swelled rapidly into a Category 1 hurricane earlier this week, the Port of New Orleans remained open with traic restrictions for most of the week while the Port of Mobile remained closed by order of the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Around New Orleans, some channels of the lower Mississippi River remain closed while others were open with restrictions. The Venice Port Complex, near the mouth of the Mississippi at the junction of the Grand Pass bay area, remained closed.
