K+S confirms Bethune shipments to Southeast Asia

Domestic Malaysian potash prices were suggested to have increased this week while K+S said that it started trial shipments of product sourced from its new Bethune mine in Saskatchewan to Southeast Asia. Inland tenders in Malaysia were said to be reflecting as much as $285/mt CFR, boosting the likelihood that higher prices will be achieved by producers through upcoming import tenders for shipment over the second half of the year. Still, competition among distributors in Malaysia remains high, and prices may not increase as much as they have in Indonesia so far this calendar year.
