Chinese end users pull sulphur prices up further

Sulphur prices continued to increase this week, driven primarily by end user demand at this stage. The strength in the Chinese spot market is pulling up some other key price indicators. The latest Qatar export tender from Muntajat was heard awarded in the low-to-mid-$130s/mt FOB, up from last month’s tender in the upper $110s/mt. It was not yet clear who won the tender, but market participants expect the tonnes to end up with a Chinese end user.
