Brazil: Assessment up as lower prices gone

Spot prices for sulphur sales to Brazil were assessed up at $135-145/mt CFR from $125-140/mt, as lower offers were no longer available and higher sales were reported. One sale of around 30,000 mt was reported around the low $140s/mt CFR on tonnes coming from the US Gulf, but the buyer suggested that the purchase was on an FOB basis and they expected it to equate to around $138/mt CFR once delivered. Many market participants doubted whether buyers would be able to find prices below $140/mt CFR anymore.
