Middle East: Spot down as demand weakens

Spot prices for sulphur exports from the Middle East were assessed down on an indicative basis at $170-190/mt FOB, though there was a lack of confirmed new spot exports. Some traders argued that as Chinese prices have declined into the $180s/mt CFR and prices for Iran cargoes have been reported sub-$160/mt FOB for granular tonnes, prices at the upper end were likely to be much too high for the current market.
