Algeria: Urea exports down 44% through August

Algeria exported 690,000 mt urea from January through August 2017, down from 1.23 million mt in the prior year, due mainly to the outage of the two 3,500 mt/day granular urea lines at the AOA plant since the end of February 2017. Brazil captured the lead with 227,000 mt from 97,000 mt, while France dropped 36% to 168,000 mt. Spain was up 47% to 152,000 mt while the US plummeted to 62,000 mt from 355,000 mt. Belgium was ahead to 30,000 mt from zero, but the UK dropped to 17,000 mt from 168,000 mt. Germany and Canada and India were at zero from 61,000 mt, 42,000 mt and 45,000 mt, respectively.
